Advocacy and Awareness

TSANJ is your voice. Our mission is to support the needs of families with TS, to advocate for individuals with TS and to educate the public and professionals on TS.

TSANJ provides on-site district-wide public and private school in-services, as well as in-service programs for colleges, universities, residential facilities, police departments and other community groups for the purpose of educating New Jersey professionals and community members about Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders. Over 30,000 teachers have received training through our in-service programs so far. Read more about In-service programs for educators

TSANJ coordinates and disseminates communications to elected officials, often affecting legislation so that it doesn’t overlook the needs of kids and adults struggling with TS. See our Breaking News page for details of some of the ways we advocate for the rights of those with TS.

TSANJ creates and disseminates advertising and public relations programs to help the public understand TS better, identify new cases and give their families a place to turn for information and help. Read more about our awareness efforts.

TSANJ trains health care professionals, runs a referral network and provides up-to-date information for doctors, psychologists and other service professionals, better equipping them to deal with the specials needs of individuals and families with TS. See a list of our workshops for professionals.

Volunteers make our programs possible, help us get the word out and address the needs of TS families. Click here or call our office at 908 575 7350 to find out more about volunteer opportunities or to get involved.
